The Stag Seeing Himself In The Water.
J-J. Grandville, from Fables de La Fontaine, by Jean de La Fontaine, Paris, 1855.
I felt like drawing some buildings this morning and I wanted to be out and back before the day got too hot, so I decided to pick a theme. There’s a striking overabundance of churches in Kilkenny (the old folks are spoiled for choice around here) so I picked that to keep me moving. It didn’t really work out, though. I spent too long on each one so, as you can see, I drew two and a bit churches. Ah well.

Joanne Nam is orginally from Korea and currently lives and works in Los Angeles. She is a recent graduate from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. Joanne describes her work by saying, “I mainly use oil paints when I create images. Most of subject matters of my paintings are from old memories. I used to live in a middle of forest and spent a lot of my time with wild trees and animals when I was young. However, I avoided reproducing simple images of those memories. The thing I was focusing on was the impression of them. The visual images in my head were vague and hard to tell, but I believed that the feeling of it was the thing that lasts.” (source: Artistaday) Please visit artist’s Behance or follow her Tumblr.
